One thing, that is often overlooked especially by professionals: It really makes editing more fun! I bought the Loupedeck a few weeks ago and now every time I go on a shoot I think afterwards "I can't wait to import all these to LR and start editing". Pushing buttons and turning knobs is so much more satisfying and the fact that you're way faster even makes a large wedding folder seem like a much more manageable task.

This is a nice controller, but if you already have a MIDI controller on your desk, you can do the same thing, and customize it to fit your preferred workflow. I stopped using a mouse in 2011 when apple came out with the track pad, and now I mostly use my MIDI controller for Lightroom and a drawing tablet in photoshop.
For me the fastest way to edit in lightroom has always been to use keyboard shortcuts. You can use the < > keys to cycle through the different settings in the developer tab and use the - + keys to decrease or increase the values. its super fast, but the Loupedeck looks pretty awesome as well.
I need it!
